| (1)Introduction The inert alumina ceramic ball is broadlyutilized as the covering or supporting materialsof the catalyst in the reactors and the packingin the columns in such varied areas, for example,petroleum, chemical industry, chemical fertilizer,natural gas, and environmental protectionetc. There are lots of merits for it, forinstance, the stronger resistance to hightemperature and high pressure, lower ratioof the moisture absorbing, more stable chemicalproperties, and so on. It is capable of enduringthe corrosion of acid, alkali, and organicsolvent. In addition, it can also bear therapid transitions of temperature during theoperation. In fact, its principal functionsare to accelerate the distribution of gasor liquid, and support or protect the activecatalyst, which especially has the relevantlylower mechanical strength. This product, which had been developed byour group company, had gained the award ofexcellent new product and the prize of thescience and technology improvement of Jiangxiprovince in 1988. In the same year, this productentered the national honor roll of the excellentnew product. In 1990, it gained the nationalcertificate of the science and technologyachievements. In 1996, it also got the provincialcertificate and the golden prize of the famousbrand product. Of late years, it has alwaysbeen recommended by SINOPEC.
